April is Earth Month and cellist Madeleine Shapiro and poet Jonathan Skinner will kick off the celebrations by presenting the second annual Earth Day at the Cafe. Poetry by Jonathan, and music by Burtner, Shatin, Sciarrino, a world premiere by Canadian Gayle Young, and others.
Madeleine at SEAMUS 2011 in Miami January 20-22.
She'll perform electro-acoustic works by Chris Chandler, Juraj Kojs and DanceMad, her motion sensor collaboration with Dan Hosken.
ModernWorks celebrates Hanoi!
Join ModernWorks at the Freer Gallery in Washington,DC for a concert celebrating the millennium of the city of Hanoi. The ensemble will present works by three Vietnamese composers for strings and piano.

Madeleine will be playing Yi Feng, Ge Gan-ru's exhilarating piece for solo amplified cello on the Microtonal Music Festival on Saturday evening. Along with some other folks, she'll also be improvising with a Korean 25 string Gayaguem.

recital at the University of Utah. Concert on January 27, 2010; works by
Salvatore Sciarrino, Kaija Saariaho, Orlando Jacinto Garcia, Matthew Burtner,
