ModernWorks! is a contemporary music ensemble based in New York City which focuses on the performance of an eclectic range of new works by both established and emerging composers. The ensemble consists of a core of some of New York City's most prominent performers of 20th century music. Next Concert: ModernWorks! Cellissimo - November 2, 2000 at 8:00 PM at the Great Hall of Cooper Union ModernWorks, Madeleine Shapiro, director, will present "Cellissimo" as part of the Sonic Boom Festival on November 2, 2000 at 8:00 PM at the Great Hall of Cooper Union. "Cellissimo: From Asia to the Andes" features works for multiple cellos with the exotic blend of glass harmonica and Chinese bamboo flute.
